To educate and support those on the Northeastern campus who identify and/or associate with the multicultural community as one defines it.
Many students come from families with multiple cultures and ethnicities, have parents from different backgrounds and cultures, or are adopted by persons who do not mirror them in terms of race or ethnicity.
A student could also be first generation American trying to balance an identity as American without compromising their cultural traditions that often link a person to their lineage and history.
Nu Mix hopes to engage the Northeastern community in a conversation around self-concept, identity, and the social dynamics of living within a multicultural community.
We look forward to educating ourselves, and others, around social stigmas, stereotypes and general misconceptions about those who come from diverse backgrounds.
